Outdoor activities – Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre – 01301 703353/703391.  The Centre has recently re-opened under new management and we are obtaining information on what it will be offering.  In the past it has provided a variety of half-day courses in activities such as canoeing, kayaking, archery and abseiling (not simultaneously!) during the school summer holidays.  Courses may also be available at other times of the year by special arrangement – contact the Centre for full details.

Drimsynie House Hotel boasts a nine-hole golf course, crazy golf, 25 metre pool with sauna and jacuzzi, ice-skating, indoor bowls, snooker and pool, beauty treatment and hairdresser and gym.

Walks

Cormonachan Woodlands – this walk through the Cormonachan ancient woodland is just a half mile from Tigh-na-Cala.  Ardroy Outdoor Education Centre was the lead partner in its development.

Argyll Holidays - hover over the “Lochgoilhead” tab and select the “Walk Ideas” option from the drop-down menu.

Carrick Castle Boat Club – click the “Local walks” tab on the left side of the page. There are links to seven walks with photographs of the route. 

Walk Highlands – details various local walks including Beinn Bheula, Donich Glen and the Cowal Way in stages with detailed route descriptions, downloadable OS maps and files for your GPS.

Undiscovered Scotland – click the “Walking” tab.

We have 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 scale Ordnance Survey maps of the area and a compass that guests may borrow if they wish.

All-weather multi-court available for hire at the Village Hall, Lochgoilhead.

Bowls – visitors to Lochgoilhead may use the Lochgoilhead Bowling Club’s green on payment of a small charge – there is an honesty box in the clubhouse.  Bowls are available in the clubhouse.  Appropriate footwear must be worn.
